Characteristic Lightlike Submanifolds of an Indefinite ð ’® -Manifold

Abstract:

We study characteristic 𠑟 -lightlike submanifolds 𠑀 tangent to the characteristic vector fields in an indefinite metric 𠒮 -manifold, and we also discuss the existence of characteristic lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite 𠒮 -space form under suitable hypotheses: (1) 𠑀 is totally umbilical or (2) its screen distribution 𠑆 ( 𠑇 𠑀 ) is totally umbilical in 𠑀 .
