On the local well-posedness of a Benjamin-Ono-Boussinesq system

Abstract:

Consider a Benjamin-Ono-Boussinesq system η t + u x + a u x x x + ( u η ) x = 0 , u t + η x + u u x + c η x x x − d u x x t = 0 , where a , c , and d are constants satisfying a = c > 0 , d > 0 or a < 0 , c < 0 , d > 0 . We prove that this system is locally well posed in Sobolev space H s ( ℠) × H s + 1 ( ℠) , with s > 1 / 4 .
