A characterization of the Rogers q -hermite polynomials

Abstract:

In this paper we characterize the Rogers q -Hermite polynomials as the only orthogonal polynomial set which is also 𝒟 q -Appell where 𝒟 q is the Askey-Wilson finite difference operator.
