Mathematical Problems in Engineering, 2006, vol. 2006, 1-17

Abstract:

This paper deals with effects of large amplitude on the free andforced flexural vibrations of elastic orthotropic plates ofarbitrary shape. R -function method (RFM) is applied to obtainthe basis functions need for expansion of sought solution intoFourier series. The initial nonlinear system of differentialequations with partial derivatives is reduced to system ofordinary nonlinear differential equations by Galerkin procedure. The solving-obtained system is carried out by Runge-Kutta orGalerkin methods. The numerical results for the plate of complexform and also rectangular form and different boundary conditionshave been presented and compared with other known results.
