Mathematical Problems in Engineering, 2022, vol. 2022, 1-14

Abstract: The number of joints influences the shear and characteristic strength of structural plane; however, the relationship of the influence is yet to be derived. This study formulates 11 simulation programs using numerical simulation and realistic failure process analysis software. The influence of the number of joints and size on the shear strength of structural plane is studied. The stress-strain curves of different numbers of joints and sizes are analyzed. The mathematical models of the shear strength of structural plane and the number of joints and sizes are proposed, and their specific expressions are obtained. The mathematical models of the shear characteristic size and strength of structural plane and the number of joints are established.
