Abstract: "In the German labor market, occupations are of great importance for shaping individual employment histories. In order to analyze the development and effects of occupations and occupational characteristics over time, a panel data set on occupations (OccPan) was generated. This occupational panel contains aggregated information, for example the proportion of women or part-time ratios, on 254 occupational groups over a period of 35 years (1976 to 2010). It is based on individual information of West German employees subject to social security in the Sample of Integrated Labour Market Biographies (SIAB). This FDZ methods report describes the generation and anonymization of the OccPan data set." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
