Abstract:
"Fixed-term employment contracts reached a new peak in 2017, at 8.3 percent of the workforce. At the same time, the conversion rate to permanent employment has risen steadily since 2009. The Federal Government is now planning a reform to limit the number and duration of fixed-term contracts. However, it is unclear whether the plans stipulated in the coalition agreement will be effective in terms of employment opportunities for those affected. Possible alternatives should be considered."
