Abstract:
"The demographically induced decline in labour force potential will vary from region to region and according to skill level. Particularly in rural areas and in eastern Germany, young employees will not be able to compensate for the retirements of the babyboomer generation. Foreign workers are playing an increasingly important role in compensating for the labour shortage, especially at the helper and skilled labour level." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
