UNITED NATIONS COMMUNICATION ON PROGRESS EMERGES AS THE PRIMARY ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE REPORTING CENTER

Kathleen Wilburn

International Journal of Management and Marketing Research, 2023, vol. 16, issue 1, 35-47

Abstract: This paper will identify the growing demands for transparency of social and sustainability behavior by business. It will review the new regulations for business by governments and how the information is being reported. The problem identified in the reporting mechanisms is the fact that they do not provide results that can be compared because the reports focus on different measurements. The reporting mechanisms will be discussed, and the paper will then describe a new reporting website, Communication on Progress, produced by the United Nations that will solve the problem. It will make reporting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals and results more accessible at a global level and will allow comparisons among companies.
