Abstract:
The Technological University of the State of Zacatecas has a close relationship with the business sector through recruitment of graduates of the different educational programs, from the stays, from the training courses of members of the companies and students, teachers or staff who collaborates in the university to the companies, etc. This link makes us realize that some micro, small and medium enterprises have a very short lifetime. It is important to investigate why this phenomenon happens to identify strategies of solution that companies can implement to ensure a long life. The objective of this investigation is to identify the causes by which the micro and small companies in the conurbated zone Zacatecas - Guadalupe close their operations in a short time. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are a fundamental element for Mexico's economic development, whether for its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or for its contribution to employment. According to the Ministry of Economy (SE), they contribute 52% to GDP and 78.5% of formal jobs
