Abstract: Enormous development in information and communication technology (ICT) has brought about paradigm shift in human lives, society and economy as a whole. ICT can truly be considered as a general-purpose technology because of its presence in almost every domain of human lives and for enabling the digital economy (DE) to foster. However, participation in this DE is often dependent upon the financial literacy (FL) and digital literacy (DL) levels of the individuals. In this context, the present study seeks to evaluate the role of both FL and DL in determining participation in DE vis-à-vis digital transaction behaviour (DTB) amongst the post graduate students of the University of Burdwan. Analysis of the primary data with appropriate statistical methods suggested low to medium level of DL and FL amongst the respondents. The findings of the study unequivocally signalled that both FL and DL were instrumental in stimulating DTB of the respondents.
