Cultural intelligence as mediator of adversity quotient and occupational stress of Indian managers

Abstract: Mangers with adequate knowledge of cultural diversities can handle adversities in a better way, and are able to cope up with occupational stress. They are in a better position to lead their culturally diverse team members through tough and difficult situations arising out of amalgamation of different cultures by setting examples of tolerant and accommodating behaviour towards individuals from alien cultures. This study is an attempt to exemplify the mediating role of cultural intelligence in adversity quotient and occupational stress of managers working in the service sector of India. Data were collected from 670 middle level managers working in the top five service sector industries of India using purposive sampling.
