A total of 119 usable questionnaires were obtained for the final data analysis using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicated that HR practices had a positive impact towards work engagement. However, the effect of HR practices on job crafting was found to be insignificant while surprisingly work engagement had a strong and positive impact towards job crafting. Besides, the effect of job crafting and work engagement on innovative work behaviour found to be significantly positive. The survey findings contribute to literature on the relationship between HR practices, work engagement, job crafting, and innovative work behaviour. The present study offers top management of the airline industry a vital insight into the variables significantly improving the innovative work behaviour among employees.
