Abstract:
Green process innovation plays a crucial role in enhancing sustainable performance, enabling manufacturers to reduce environmental impacts while gaining a competitive advantage. This study examines green process innovation and sustainable performance among manufacturing establishments in Bat Trang ceramic village. Based on in-depth interviews with ten owners of establishments that have adopted green process innovation, the findings identify five key drivers: 1) market factors; 2) stakeholder pressure; 3) technological factors; 4) collaboration and networking; 5) social, cultural, and ethical considerations. Most establishments are applying cleaner technologies by replacing conventional combustion methods with liquefied petroleum gas and electricity. Respondents also highlighted the positive effects of green process innovation on sustainable performance across three dimensions: economic, environmental, and social. The study offers policy implications aimed at promoting green process innovation to enhance sustainable performance.
