Abstract:
The objective of the current research is to analyse the mediating role of leader-member exchange on the relationship between servant leadership and organisational commitment. In order to achieve this objective, the data was collected from 524 full-time employees working in five companies of the information technology sector operating in northern India. Results of the structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis revealed that servant leadership has a significant and positive impact on leader-member exchange. Further, servant leadership has a positive impact on organisational commitment. Leader-member exchange has a positive impact on employees' commitment level except for continuance commitment. Finally, the results of the mediational analysis show that servant leadership mediates the relationship between leader-member exchange and affective, continuance and normative commitment.
