Abstract:
Innovation has always been regarded as an important factor for enterprises to maintain competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to explore which organisational capabilities of enterprises support the innovative enterprises. This paper uses structural equation model to study 597 Chinese high-tech enterprises. The results show that dynamic absorptive capacity is positively correlated with dual innovation; resource bricolage partially mediates the relationship between dynamic absorptive capacity and dual innovation; improvisation interferes with resource bricolage and dual innovation. In view of the importance of dynamic absorptive capacity and resource bricolage, high-tech enterprises not only need to fully utilise dynamic absorption capacity, but also fully utilise idle and minimum resources to solve the resource shortage problem of innovative enterprises and respond to market demand. In addition, this study extends the theories of dynamic absorptive capacity, resource patchwork, and dual innovation to further extend the theory of improvisation.
