Abstract: This study adopts a holistic approach with multiple variables related to sustainable strategy (innovation, timeliness, responsibility, quality, creativity and capability) for the permanence of established firms (EBO). An unbalanced fixed-effects panel data model is used to analyse the relationship between sustainable strategy variables in 48 countries between 2015 and 2021 with the permanence of EBO. The results reveal that innovation indicators have no significant relationship with EBO permanence, while aligning with sustainable development goals, entrepreneurial behaviour and attitudes and entrepreneurial framework conditions has a positive effect on EBO permanence. These results expand the understanding of the role of sustainable strategy in the permanence of EBO and offer valuable information for policy makers, entrepreneurs and academics interested in fostering the long-term sustainability of sustainable entrepreneurship.
