Abstract:
Stakeholders in the commercial aviation industry seek to uphold their individual interests but are required to generate a unified decision that not only satisfies their own interests but also those of others. In this paper, the fuzzy multiple stakeholder-based target-oriented robust-optimisation (MS-TORO) approach is utilised to address a choice problem in the aircraft rerouting process. The proposed model is based on an optimisation model whereby the primary goal is to balance the interests of stakeholders at a certain extent of deviation from the target metric. The key results of the model showed an aggregated solution to the apparent conflict of interests among stakeholders. Furthermore, the model also highlighted the risk profile of stakeholders via the deviation metric. Such a novel framework is beneficial to balance the interests of stakeholders in the decision process not only in the air transportation domain but also in other similar areas.
