Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an analysis of an elastically restrained tapered cantilever beam using the Differential Transformation Method (DTM). The concept of differential transformation is briefly introduced, and is then employed to derive a set of differential equations for the free vibration oscillator problem. To assess the accuracy of solutions, we compare the results with the Numerical Solution (NS). It is shown that excellent agreement exists between the two sets of results. These results show where these approaches can be easily extended to other non-linear oscillations and that can be found widely applicable in engineering and science.
