Current and future use of simulation in designing and analysing manufacturing systems

Abstract:
Simulation has been consistently reported as one of the most popular tools for designing and analysing manufacturing systems. These days, simulation is more popular and powerful than ever since computers and software are better than ever. The manner of its application to manufacturing systems has changed. A review on the current use of simulation is made, and its potential use in the near future is described, considering its application to manufacturing systems. In addition, some typical real examples for applying the simulation to actual manufacturing systems have been introduced to demonstrate the effectiveness especially in both designing and analysing systems.
