Abstract:
Can structures foster creativity and innovation? This question is answered using a Giddens-inspired framework and data from an interview series on the development of innovation capability in companies. Three prepositions are made: (1) procedures can cause paralysis, (2) procedures emerge in many ways and (3) the long-term innovation capability of an organisation depends on its ability to reinvent its innovation procedures.
