Abstract:
This paper proposes a tool for monitoring the strategic performance of project portfolios and explains its implementation in order to detect the first effects of materialised risks and opportunities. It allows the early reaction for decreasing or increasing the influence of these effects on the achievement of portfolio goals. The monitoring tool considers the strategic interdependences in a portfolio which are the result of the contribution of projects for realising key strategic benefits and for achieving portfolio objectives. The paper explains the use of this tool and the manner that it supports the decision making during the processes of portfolio management.
