Abstract:
The M/M/1 queuing system has been the oldest and perhaps the most widely used of all queuing models. However, queuing analysts have been particularly constrained by the fact that no standardised inferential procedures are available in literature. The menu of methods available has their pitfalls and ambiguities. This paper is about putting to rest one such ambiguity.
