Abstract:
Ensuring competition rules by the Commission and the National Competition Authorities(NACs) is an essential element for the functioning of an open, competitive and innovative European market for job creation and boosting overall EU growth. The ten years of application of these rules, in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1/2003, have shown multiple deficiencies. This paper aims to present novelty elements of the new legislative proposal - a Directive that includes new rules that empower the National Competition Authorities to act more effectively.
