THE REFORM OF LABOR MARKETS IN THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE GREEN TRANSITION. CASE STUDIES: ROMANIA AND POLAND

Alina Dumitrescu

Euroinfo, 2024, vol. 8, issue 1, 52-66

Abstract: The article focuses on analysing the green transition socioeconomic impact on the labour markets in the European Union. The comparative study underscores the prospects for developing the labour markets in Romania and Poland, based on the circular economy, as an essential component of the green economy and as a new model of production and consumption. The comparative analysis shows that the Governments of Member States, including Romania and Poland, will need to ensure that education and training systems provide future workers with the appropriate skills to support the transition to the circular economy. The research uses a multidisciplinary approach, which involves a quantitative analysis of Eurostat data and a qualitative analysis of the relevant official documents of the EU’s institutions.
