Abstract: Web Service for Devices (WSFD) sees a perspective of being able to build service-oriented and event-driven applications on top of these devices with Web service capabilities and a seamless integration into existing World Wide Web infrastructure. The authors introduce in this paper PS4PCSim, a proactive simulator toolkit for pervasive computing applications and environments. It has been implemented and used to test and simulate various context-aware pervasive systems in different application areas using UPnP infrastructure and the WSFD technology like a smart office or house with ambient sensors, actuators and physical devices.
