Abstract: Through a nationwide questionnaire survey, this study analyzed the influence of air, water, noise, and garbage pollution on the frequency of leisure sports activities and health outcomes of urban residents in China. After controlling for demographic variables and regional differences, the authors found that air pollution and water pollution significantly reduced the frequency of leisure sports activities and had a negative impact on health. The impact of air pollution is the most significant, and water pollution is particularly prominent in the eastern and western regions. The influence of noise and garbage pollution varies from region to region. The study suggests that policy makers should formulate environmental policies according to regional characteristics to reduce pollution and improve residents' health. Future research can further explore the influence of social and economic status, urban planning, and other factors.
