Abstract: Communication is widely recognized as a core managerial competence in complex project environments. This study investigates how project professionals perceive the influence of project managers' communication competencies on five dimensions of project success: project efficiency, team satisfaction, client satisfaction, business success, and long-term organizational capability development. Using the multidimensional framework of Shenhar and Dvir, data were collected through a cross-sectional survey of 257 professionals across industries. Communication competencies were operationalized as a multidimensional construct covering verbal, graphical, formal, informal, and interpersonal behaviors. The findings indicate a consistently strong perceived association between communication competencies and all success dimensions, particularly client satisfaction and business performance. The results emphasize the transversal role of communication in project governance and highlight its strategic importance in digitally mediated and stakeholder-intensive project settings.
