Abstract: Income inequality refers to the differences in income earned and overall standard of living among a group of people. Income inequality has very important social and economic consequences in a country. Measuring income inequality had been in focus for quite some time. The focus of our study is to introduce an income inequality measure which will be independent of the income distributional pattern.
