Abstract: This study explores whether currency interventions explain corporate risk management policies. Based on a sample of 545 Indian firms for the period 2000-2021, the study finds that firms mostly do not hedge when currency intervention is high. Moreover, the results show that importers and exporters formulate their hedging policies on the basis of the nature of interventions. These findings offer important insights and implications for firm managers as well as policymakers.
