Abstract:
The constructs of Leadership and organizational change have drawn substantial research attention over the decades. However, despite many of the scholarly efforts undertaken, this literature still shows fragmentation, and reviews integrating the two in particular have been few. These limitations pose challenges in understanding and tracing the developmental trajectories of the field, and exploring future directions for research in the area. In this paper, we make a new attempt to integrate literature on organizational change and leadership, adopting a combination of bibliometric techniques and an in-depth review. Results reveal the intellectual and conceptual structure of the literature and identify the central themes within. The review also recognizes certain theoretical and methodological advancements required in the field.
