Attitudes and Social Cognition

Singh Ramadhar

IIMA Working Papers from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Research and Publication Department

Abstract: This chapter reviews research in attitudes and social cognition in India during 1975-84. The areas covered are attitudes, impression formation, attribution, and judgment and decision. It is noted that quality of research has improved considerably, and that Indian psychologists are doing not only programmatic research but are also concerned with relevance of their research. Experimental rigor and use of theoretical models in the current work suggest that future research is going to be of even better quality.
