Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the application of knowledge management (KM) strategies and practices in the telecommunication sector organizations of Pakistan. The purpose is also to identify the negative attributes exist in knowledge management system of telecommunication sector which cause mistakes in records, ineffective time management, etc. As we know that telecommunication sector is the most leading sector in Pakistan. Today we live in a knowledge based economy. So management of knowledge is a most important factor now a day. The telecommunication sector in Pakistan involves in sales and services of telecommunication. The major issue which I found after keen analysis is basically the implementation of latest information technology tools to handle and monitor the flow of activities involved in knowledge management as well as the logistics management of the company and due to lack of this element company faces a lot of hurdles in managing and recording of knowledge. This problem also affects the smooth functioning of sharing and diffusion of knowledge and creating difficulties for managers to manage their operations in a feasible manner as well as on timely basis.
