Effect of group level variables on fertility in a rural Indian sample

Abstract: Working paper, emanating from the WEP, to examine the effect of selected socio-economic variables on fertility among the rural population of India - presents data derived from a sample survey of 11 villages in which different castes and economic conditions were dominant, including some poverty- stricken villages, etc., and concludes that social group level variables are of significance in determining fertility. References and statistical tables.
