Working paper reviewing a research programme concerning demographic changes and the role of women in developing countries - considers factors affecting women's roles, such as cultural factors, family structure, household size, marital status, living conditions, etc. Examines changes in fertility, mortality, migration and labour force participation of women, and constitutes part of a WEP research project on population and employment.
