Working paper comprising a progress report on the role of ILO in the development of an econometric model for the assessment of basic needs in developing countries - covers previous work regarding social auditing matrices and income distribution models, considers elements of a strategy relating to choice of technology, industrialization, trade relations, etc., and provides an overview to the methodology of the model.
