Abstract: Working paper appraising standards and delivery of public services for meeting basic needs in West Bengal (Ranaghat block II). Examines changes in provision of services with regard to housing, infrastructure planning, education and health, water supply, etc. from 1968 to 1978, and analyses service consumption by household use.
