ILO Working Papers from International Labour Organization
Abstract:
Working paper testing a hypothesis relating to the impact of economic growth on economic structure and income distribution in developing countries - applying a simulation economic model to five different development policies, shows the negative impact of industrialization and positive impact of agricultural development on income distribution, and finds that it does not support the "U-shape" (Kuznets) hypothesis, according to which economic disparities increase at first and decrease later with growth.
