Working paper on the employment effects of computerization in office- based service sector in the UK - examines trends in occupational change, and the impact of microelectronics information technology in insurance, accounting, local government and banking; based on case studies, considers the sexual division of labour, part time employment, hours of work, job content an skills; outlines the role of trade unions in employment security, labour productivity and wage rates.
