Abstract:
Reviews the principal approaches to social dialogue in the Americas since the 1940s and explores the role of social dialogue as a means of adjustment to the processes of globalization and economic and technological change. Discusses the role of social dialogue in relation to the public sector and public policies and considers the institutionalization of dialogue and the role of labour ministries.
