Inclusive development strategy in an era of globalization

Ignacy. Sachs

ILO Working Papers from International Labour Organization

Abstract: Reviews approaches to the concept of development since the 1940s and argues that the asymmetric and inequitable forms of globalization prevailing today are detrimental to the interests of developing countries. Sets out requirements for inclusive development and highlights the need for higher productivity, the transformation of petty activities into organized small-scale enterprises and territorial planning at the local level.
