Haiti: Staff-Monitored Program
International Monetary Fund
No 2003/260, IMF Staff Country Reports from International Monetary Fund
Abstract:
The goal of the monitoring program is to develop a medium-term economic and structural reform program that could be supported by renewed donor growth, including from the poverty reduction and growth facility. Monetary policy will need to be geared toward reducing inflation and stabilizing the exchange rate under the floating exchange rate system. Overall, the authorities’ program represents a strong effort to stabilize the economy and start creating the condition for sustained recovery. Program measures to improve governance focus on public sector transparency and accountability.
