Bosnia and Herzegovina: 2026 Article IV Consultation-Press Release; and Staff Report
International Monetary Fund
No 2026/205, IMF Staff Country Reports from International Monetary Fund
Abstract:
Reforms, including under the EU Growth Plan, have stalled and inter-entity cooperation is weak. With October elections approaching, fiscal pressures have risen. Larger deficits in both entities (FBiH, RS) are projected to be financed primarily through foreign borrowing. The financial sector is generally healthy amid high household credit growth. The currency board arrangement (CBA) coverage ratio is high and stable.
