Abstract:
I find little in Professor Mitroff's response with which I would argue. I entirely agree that any view of science necessarily has metaphysical foundations and remain puzzled that he should think that I stated the reverse. Systems thinking may be an engaging theoretical pastime but if it is to have a major impact on research activity more pragmatic methodological procedures must be developed.
