Behavioral Science---Is There a “Radical” Organization Design in the House?

Daniel N. Braunstein

Interfaces, 1976, vol. 6, issue 2, 54-56

Abstract: During three magnificent Indian summer days at the University of Illinois this fall, about thirty specialists in organizational behavior gathered for a workshop-conference in “radical approaches to organizational design”. Presiding were, Lou Pondy, current chairman of the TIMS College on Organizations, and Ken Rowland, past president of the Academy of Management. Both Pondy and Rowland are professors in an active organizational behavior graduate program on the Illinois campus. Also represented were a number of other universities, and six different government agencies. A brief overview of some presentations follows.
