Abstract:
Eastern Congo has experienced 30 years of protracted conflict. In January 2025, Goma, the provincial capital of North-Kivu, fell to M23. This marks the fifth time in three decades that a Rwandan-backed rebellion has seized control of the city. What is happening in the DR Congo?
