Os Fundos de Investimento no Brasil de 2008 a 2013: institucionalidade e interfaces com a política econômica

Abstract: Este texto pretende apresentar as principais características de um segmento importante do mercado financeiro brasileiro, os fundos de investimento, que compõem, juntamente com as seguradoras e os fundos de pensão, os investidores institucionais ou, nos termos de Minsky (1989), os money managers. Os argumentos estão organizados da seguinte forma: a seção 2 versa sobre a institucionalidade do setor de fundos de investimentos no Brasil, o que compreende sua regulação e forma de organização; a seção 3 apresenta um panorama geral da evolução deste setor no período considerado e a última seção reúne as principais conclusões da análise sob a forma de fatos estilizados. This paper aims to present the main features of an important segment of the Brazilian financial market, the investment funds. These funds, along with insurers and pension funds, constitute the institutional investors or so-called money managers (Minsky, 1989). The arguments are organized as follows: section II focus on the institutional framework (regulation and form of organization) of the segment in Brazil; section III presents an overview of its performance over the analyzed period; the fourth section summarizes the main conclusions of the analysis.
