Abstract:
Presents a model, using utility maximization and Pareto-optimal criteria, that allows identification of policy criteria for rural road abandonment in the United States. Impact of the deterioration and changing use patterns of the rural road system on policy decisions for local government officials; Outline of empirical estimation; Decision criteria estimation for rural road abandoment.
