Abstract: This paper revolves around the topic of shared value and will have the following objectives: (1) introducing the concept of shared value in literature, (2) analyzing quantitative and qualitative methods for operationalizing shared value, (3) operationalizing shared value during cluster development. As far as objectives (2) and (3) are concerned, we consider that among the presented methods, the case study, the interview, the questionnaire, the participant observation, the document analysis and the network analysis are the ones with the most frequent application in the literature of shared value. At the end of this exploratory research, the reader will find it interesting that shared value is a novel term in the microeconomics and still, it has a lot of potential to overcome its weaknesses.
