Abstract: The U.S. Government has identified Yucca Mountain is southern Nevada (110 miles northwest of Las Vegas) as a primary location for a high-level nuclear waste repository. This study investigates the attitude of recent home purchasers toward the establishment of a high-level nuclear repository and the transportation of nuclear materials through the community. The findings indicate that homebuyers are concerned about the potential risk, but that those who are most knowledgeable have less concern than those who are less knowledgeable.
